Members of Berkswich Mothers’ Union held a candle-lit vigil in Stafford Market Square on Tuesday 25th November 2025, along with representatives from Staffordshire Women’s Aid, to support 16 days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence and Abuse in all forms throughout the world.
We believe that we must bring this violence to light, and so we paid our respects by reading out the names of 78 women who lost their lives to domestic violence during 2025. The vigil ended with a Mothers’ Union prayer. We give our heartfelt thanks to all who took the time to attend and give their valued support.
Berkswich Mothers’ Union offer support to Staffordshire Women’s Aid by regularly donating essential food and other items, and also Christmas gifts. We are constantly looking for new ways of putting our faith in God into positive action by following the Holy Commandment to Love Our Neighbour As Ourselves.
